Buchan announces 5 new principals and 8 senior promotions

Buchan has announced 5 new principals and 8 senior elevations across its Australian and New Zealand studios.

Buchan CEO Stephen Auld says the senior promotions reflect the growth of the practice and an investment in talent and diversity across the organisation.

“These individuals have made a notable contribution to Buchan through their design excellence, technical expertise, leadership, and client service.”

Auld says the 5 new principals will bolster the leadership team and support emerging sectors while strengthening the sectors Buchan is renowned for, including sport and entertainment, hospitality, residential and commercial.

Lynn Van Dievoort has international qualifications in architecture, urbanism and spatial design. She is a valued design leader at Buchan working across mixed-use, multi-residential, seniors living and sport precinct design.

Scott Inverarity is based in Auckland and has near 30 years of experience across sectors including commercial, retail, health, aged care and sport architecture. Inverarity is integral to Buchan’s design collaboration on the Te Tōangaroa Auckland stadium proposal.

Alessandro Paladin is based in Perth and has been with Buchan for a decade. Building on experience gained in Italy and China, Alessandro brings a strong skillset to complex projects that include mixed-use, residential and retail.

Malou Ellis has extensive design experience in retail, hospitality, multi-residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects around the world. Based in Sydney, her focus also includes growing Buchan’s presence in Southeast Asia.

Aleksander Borek is Melbourne-based with extensive local and international architectural experience. His work in Indigenous engagement is reflected in the Biyal-a Armstrong Creek Library and sits alongside a significant portfolio of mixed-use, civic, government and hospitality projects.

Alex Dickson and Carol Leung have been elevated to senior associates. Newly appointed associates are My Thuat Ho, Myron Monteiro, Hayden Federico, Will Perkin, Anu Chembrolu and Richard Stanton.

Auld also acknowledges the significant contribution of two team members who are celebrating 40 years’ service at Buchan, director and principal Bruce Shaw, and principal Greg Sheehan, who is retiring.
